Yalda Aminy reading a poem for Wales PEN Cymru on Human Rights Day – Remember the Writers of Afghanistan.

In this, the second of two videos made for the Wales PEN Cymru World Human Rights event (see first here), Yalda Aminy shares her love of poetry by reading a short poem by Iranian poet Gholamreza Tariqi. The poem is about unfulfilled potential and Yalda is one of the young women who can no longer contribute to her country’s future. Yalda made this video for the Human Rights Day event hosted by Wales PEN Cymru urging people not to forget the writers of Afghanistan.

The video appears on Covid Chronicles with permissions.
